Kalon Metz is a criminal defense attorney at MayesTelles. He grew up outside Austin, Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and then received his juris doctorate from the University of Houston in 2008. After graduating law school, Kalon moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to begin his legal career as a Deputy County Attorney at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
While at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Kalon handled thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases and held assignments in the office’s Trial, Vehicular Crimes, and Special Crimes Bureaus, and prosecuted offenses ranging from misdemeanor DUIs to more serious offenses such as Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Sex Trafficking.
Kalon left the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office to become an Assistant Attorney General at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office – Drug and Racketeering Enforcement Section. While there, Kalon prosecuted felony drug and money laundering cases and worked closely with investigators from local and federal law enforcement agencies while performing wiretap investigations into drug trafficking organizations.
During Kalon’s 13 years as a prosecutor, he has gained significant experience in the courtroom and has prosecuted cases in Maricopa, Gila, Mohave, Yuma, Pima, and Pinal counties. Now, Kalon uses the skills and knowledge obtained as prosecutor to defend his clients.
