Phoenix Street Gang Crime Lawyers
In Arizona, involvement of any kind with a street gang or any criminal syndicate is illegal and could result in a felony conviction for anyone facing charges. Organized crime is considered a direct attack on the state and federal government and their goals, which is why gang involvement and crimes are such serious offenses.
At MayesTelles PLLC, our legal team understands that there are cases where false charges of such crimes are placed against an individual, and we want nothing more than to fight such charges and help the innocent victim to regain their freedom.
Understanding Gang Crimes
In the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) §13-2301, a "criminal syndicate" is basically defined as any combination of persons or enterprises involved in continuing felony violations in Arizona. Street gangs are one such syndicate. Participating in or assisting a criminal syndicate in any way, including organizing the syndicate, getting others involved, or promoting their actions, is illegal according to A.R.S. §13-2308.
These are class 2 felonies and could result in 10 years' imprisonment, or even 12.5 years for aggravated cases. Participating in or assisting a criminal street gang is also a crime under Arizona state law, as found in A.R.S. §13-2321. The qualifications for this crime are the same as those listed above. However, participation in a criminal street gang is a class 2 felony, while assisting a gang (while not being a member) is a class 3 felony.
