Phoenix Pedestrian Accident Attorney
Were You Hit By A Vehicle While Walking Along The Road?
Pedestrians legally have the right of way when walking on the sidewalk or using a crosswalk – unfortunately, far too many reckless drivers fail to recognize this right or fail to notice the person in their path and cause a serious accident. No matter what protected area the pedestrian is using, they deserve to feel safe from a potential crash. When a dangerous driver takes that sense of safety away from them and causes a serious injury, they deserve the chance to fight for their rights through the legal system to ensure that they receive the compensation they need to cover any damages incurred or medical bills that pile up through treatment and recovery.

Dangers Pedestrians Face
The non-profit group the National Complete Streets Coalition at Smart Growth America released a report that dug into data from across the United States in order to better understand the dangers pedestrians face in every state. In order to develop a metric that can be applied to each area, the researchers created what they call the Pedestrian Danger Index (PDI) that determines the risk pedestrians face while commuting in each state and metro area. They set the national average at 52.2 – the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale area scored a 118.64, making it the 9th most dangerous area for pedestrians in the entire nation.
